“He who has the Son has life; he who does nothave the Son of God does not have life.”
1 John 5:12 (NIV)
OUR MISSION: LIFE
It is often said that everyone is born with a God-sized whole in his heart that only God can fill. We believe that everyone is born with a dead heart, and that only Jesus Christ can make it beat again. A Pulse indicates life, vitality, energy and feeling. Our mission is to help young people have life—true life that only Jesus can bring.
“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” -Jesus (John 10:10, The Message)
A Pulse is marked by its rhythmic beats. This rhythm of life is found everywhere in the world around us—from a heartbeat to the crashing waves. Rhythm is the opposite of chaos. Most teenagers today would use this word to describe their lives at home, at school, with friends and with emotions. Chaos is everywhere! Our goal is that everyone would understand that Jesus Christ can turn a chaotic existence into a rhythmic life. There are three “beats” to this rhythm…
Exalt – literally means “to lift or to raise up.” Our desire is to raise JESUS up to the highest place in our lives by learning to love Him with all that we are. Exalt is the primary focus of our midweek services on Tuesday (Middle School) and Wednesday (High School) nights.
Edify – literally means “to build up or to construct.” Our desire is to be built up in intimacy with Christ, in faith and in personal holiness. Edify is the primary focus of our weekly small groups.
Evangelize – literally means “to announce the good news.” Our desire is to announce the good news of life to those who are spiritually dead. Evangelism takes place through regularly scheduled outreach events and also through a partnership with Student Venture campus ministries.
